Description
Bowl Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the mid-19th century, which is reported to incorporate part of Sir Robert Atkyn's manor house from the mid-17th century. The building is constructed of rubble with a slate roof, featuring coped verges with large kneelers and end ashlar stacks. It has two storeys and a band over the ground floor. The façade includes three windows with glazing bar sashes set in raised surrounds. There is a central gabled porch, also with kneelers and coped verges, which has a pointed archway and a half-glazed door. To the left, there is a large 1½ storey lean-to. A large rainwater head is cast with the initial 'S', representing Sartoris. Sir Robert Atkyns, a Gloucestershire historian, lived in a manor house on this site.
