Description
The Golden Ball Inn is a farmhouse that has been converted into an inn, dating from around 1700. It is built of coursed rubble with a concrete plain tile roof and features two brick chimneys in the center and one in ashlar to the right. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands at 2½ storeys with a long frontage. It consists of roughly five bays, showcasing 2-and 3-light mullioned windows with drips. The main section includes the three left-hand bays, and the former lobby entrance is marked by a plain bullseye window on each floor. To the right of the center, there are two small single-light windows. There is a lean-to on the right side, and at the rear, a first-floor window is adorned with a cornice hood and a gabled dormer. Inside, the public bar features a chamfered beam and a blocked central fireplace with wooden lintels.
