Description

Stone House Cottages is a row of cottages with origins in the 18th century, remodelled in the mid-19th century and modernised later. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone, with some areas rendered, and have a Cotswold stone roof. There are three rubble chimneys with moulded capping. The cottages are one-and-a-half storeys high and have an irregular 2:3 bay arrangement, with three Cotswold gables, two of which are modern. The windows are mainly 20th-century two, three, and four-light casements, with a segment-headed window on the ground floor to the right. The remaining ground-floor windows have timber lintels. There are 20th-century bracketed gable porches with pebble-dashed tympana and glazed doors. The left-hand cottage, which has a coped verge and pebble-dashed render, may be earlier and has two bays with a central door similar to the porch.
