Description

The dovecote at Charlton House is an 18th-century structure made of rubble stone, topped with a Cotswold stone-slate roof. It has a circular shape with a conical roof that features a square timber lantern. This lantern contains entrance holes for birds and is topped with a hipped roof and an iron weathervane. Inside, the walls are lined with rows of perches that extend from the floor to the ceiling. The roof has been renewed, and there is no central strutted support for accessing the perches. On the south side, there is a small arch without a door, which has a leaded window above it.
