Description
There are two monuments located in the churchyard of the Church of St James, positioned up to 10 metres north-west of the nave. The first is a pedestal tomb made of limestone, dedicated to Charlotte, daughter of Sarah Mills, who died in 1837, along with other family members. It features raised inscription panels on all four sides, a fielded frieze, and a moulded pyramidal capping. The second monument is a headstone from the 17th century, which has a scrollwork top. Although the inscription is no longer legible, it has carved spandrels that show traces of foliate decoration, and a cherub's head flanked by fruit is located above.
