Description

The Windrush Restaurant is a mid-19th century building. It is constructed from coursed rubble and has a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate. The building is square, originally with a four-window by three-window arrangement. A tented verandah with wooden posts and a slate roof was originally present on three sides, although the front facing the High Street has been filled in with a modern lean-to addition. The ground floor has French casement windows, while the upper floor has sash windows with glazing bars. The restaurant occupies an important position and contributes to group value alongside the Lower Mill, acting as a visual termination to the green at the west end.
