Description
Gents Farmhouse is a large farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features a sprocketed tile roof, with a slate roof on the east wing and stone end stacks. The building consists of a single long range that is two storeys high with an attic, accompanied by a two-storey wing to the east.
The facade has five windows, which are 12-pane sashes with flush sash boxes and timber lintels. There are also two small hipped dormers with paired casements, and the sides of these dormers are tile-hung. On the ground floor, there are four 19th-century 4-pane sashes with segmental stone heads. The central entrance door has eight fielded panels and is topped by a large moulded stone flat hood supported by brackets. Inside, the ends of four beams are visible above the lintel level on the first floor. The small east wing features scattered 2-light casements and a doorway that adjoins the larger range.
