Description
This road bridge, located approximately 70 meters south-west of Casey Compton House, dates from the late 17th to early 18th century. It features walls made of coursed squared and dressed limestone, while the bridge itself is constructed from finely dressed stone. A canal runs from the west of the bridge and continues through the garden in front of the house for about 60 meters. On the east side of the bridge, which has been moved from its original position, there is a single low segmental arch with voussoirs that supports part of the boundary wall. The west side, which remains in its original position, has a low segmental arch with voussoirs, a keystone, and a band. The bridge is flanked by rusticated square piers topped with pyramidal cappings. An engraving by Kip from Atkyn's History of Gloucestershire, dated around 1712, depicts this structure.
