Description

This brewery and mill complex dates from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The brewery is a rectangular building with an L-shaped mill attached to its right gable end.

The brewery is two storeys high with a four-bay facade. It has two 12-pane sash windows on each floor, set within plain surrounds with keystones above both. A wide plank door, glazed at the top and with a keystone, is centrally positioned. Above the door is a three-width opening containing a pitching door in the centre, a four-pane casement to the left, and a clock to the right. A shoot connects a ground floor and first floor window on the right. A plank door, accessed by two stone steps, is located on the lower right side. The roof has two skylights, and a flat gable end coping at the right. A square ventilation lantern with wooden louvres is positioned approximately midway along the right-hand end.

The mill, at a lower level, is two storeys high and has two windows with two-light casements and glazing bars in cambered arched surrounds. An overshot water wheel is situated against the right gable end of the mill. The rear wall includes three courses of pigeon holes. The interiors have not been inspected.
