Description
Ganborough House is a detached house dating from the 18th century, likely built in two stages, with a 20th-century extension that is not of special interest. The house is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and brick stacks. The main structure is rectangular, featuring two storeys and an attic that is illuminated by a single 20th-century two-light roof dormer.
The symmetrical facade has three windows, which are tall two-light metal casements with glazing bars set within a plain architrave that includes keystones. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed front door topped by a gabled canopy supported by wooden brackets, with a blind window above it. A small triangular pediment is located at the eaves, featuring a carved male head with a beard and moustache. To the left, there is a single-bay extension with a two-light casement in a plain architrave on the upper floor and a single light below. The main body and the left extension both have flat gable-end coping and gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. This building should not be confused with another property named Ganborough.
