Description
Broad Entry, located on the south-east side of Lower High Street, is a building that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is two storeys high and constructed from rubble, featuring a roof that is partly tiled and partly made of Cotswold stone. The building has two brick chimneys and includes one gabled dormer with old casements. The left-hand bay is rendered over a timber frame. The windows are arranged irregularly, with three on the first floor and four on the ground floor, one of which is modern and linked to a door. At the rear, there is a three-light stone mullion window. No. 2 is now part of No. 1, and both are referred to as Broad Entry; No. 2 was formerly a stable. This section has one and a half storeys, featuring a door and a window that open to an alley, with horseshoes over the ledged door, and a half-hipped gabled end above a loft window to the south.
