Description

The lychgate at the Church of St. Saviour is a mid-19th century structure, likely built around the same time as the church in 1848. It features ashlar piers designed as three joined stepped buttresses, topped with a hipped Cotswold stone slate roof that includes a gablet and a cross saddlestone with an iron cross finial. The sprocketed roof is supported by a central splayed post, which is carried on braced beams that are all chamfered. The original double gates are made of timber and iron. On the church side, the entire structure has a cobblestone base.
