Description
Two chest tombs are located about 3 meters south of the porch in the churchyard of the Church of St Nicholas. The tombs commemorate Robert Worlock, son of John and Mary, who died in 1733, and Robert of Comb Farm, who died in 1754. Both tombs are made of limestone.
The eastern tomb features a stepped tent top with a gadrooned cap, a moulded plinth and capping, and gadrooned quarter baluster corners. Its high relief ends and panels on the north side flank a moulded oval panel, with additional carving around the base of the cap. The south side is plain.
The western tomb has a slightly tented top, a moulded plinth and capping, and quarter baluster corners. Its segmental ends display reliefs of cherubs' heads on the east side, while the west side is plain. The south side is also plain, and the north side features a cartouche within an eared rectangular panel.
