Description

The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into a detached house, dating from around 1730. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, with coursed rubble used in an addition, and features ashlar chimneys. The roofs are covered with concrete tiles and stone slates. The building has a two-storey, rectangular double-pile plan, with a two-storey east wing.

On the north front, there are two windows, with a projecting chimney to the right that has four incised shafts and a moulded cap. All windows are 12-pane sashes set in plain surrounds. The central entrance features a rusticated round arched doorway with a fanlight above and a four-panel fielded door. The roof is tall and hipped.

The south front was originally symmetrical with three windows, but the left windows have been replaced by an early 20th-century two-storey canted bay window, which has plate glass on the ground floor and 12-pane sashes on the upper floor. The remaining fenestration includes 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and 9-pane sashes on the upper floor. There is a square-headed doorway with moulded architraves and a four-panel door, with a lunette and fanlight directly above. The building features alternating chamfered quoins. To the right, there is a lower early 20th-century addition with a hipped roof and a cantilevered timber-framed upper floor that connects to the main structure. The interior has not been inspected.
