Description
This building is an outbuilding and stable located approximately 10 metres north of Bibury Court Hotel. It was originally a house from the late 16th century, with the stable added in the early 19th century. The structure is made of random rubble limestone with roughcast render, featuring ashlar chimneys. The stable has a stone slate roof, while the outbuilding has a concrete tile roof.
The former house is two stories tall, with the stable situated at the north end. On the east side, there is a central former three-light recessed cavetto mullioned casement window, which has had its mullions removed and replaced with a fixed-light installation. Above this window, there is an early iron tie-rod plate. To the right, there is a Tudor arched doorway with a plank door. The stable has two doorways, with the right one featuring a rectangular light above it. The stable also includes a ridge vent and a chimney on the north gable end, as well as a cut-down chimney from the former north gable end of the house. There is an inserted loft doorway with a timber lintel and plank door on the south gable end, along with a 19th-century internal stair that has been added. This building is included for its group value.
