Description
The bridge over the road to Rendcomb College was built in the mid-1860s by P.C. Hardwick for Sir F.H. Goldsmid. It is constructed of ashlar stone with some areas featuring vermiculated rustication, and includes a cast iron girder bridge. The bridge has pilasters adorned with horizontal vermiculated rustication, which is also present on the sides of the bridge abutments facing the road. Each side of the bridge features a single blind round-headed arch with keystones that have carved lion's heads. Above each archway is a segmental panel displaying the Goldsmid monogram intertwined with flowers and ribbons. The bridge abutments have a solid ashlar parapet, and there is a cast iron railing base with an arabesque motif.
