Description
Burgess House is a house that has been converted into a restaurant, located in Northleach on Market Place. It dates from the late 18th century to the 19th century and features an ashlar facade with a stone slate roof on the front pitch, while the rear has a mix of concrete tile and slate. The building has a rectangular main body with a later extension at the rear that is set at right angles.
The facade is two storeys high and has three windows. There is an ashlar chimney stack, and the extension has the stump of an ashlar stack. The attic is lit by two roof dormers, each with two lights and glazing bars. The first floor has twelve-pane sash windows with keystones, while the lower left side features a 20th-century double part-glazed door. To the right of the door are two wide 20th-century two-light fixed casements, and the far right window is part of a former doorway that has been blocked.
The interior has not been inspected. The building is included in the heritage listing mainly for its group value with surrounding structures.
