Description
Farrier's is a house located at the end of a row in Northleach, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later extensions. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring an ashlar facade and a stone slate roof, with one ashlar stack and one stack made of 20th-century artificial stone. The main body of the house is rectangular, with two later extensions at right angles at the rear.
The facade is symmetrical and has three bays, with two storeys and an attic that is lit by a gabled roof dormer. The ground and first floors have three-light stone-mullioned casements with transoms, and there is a blind window situated between the upper floor casements. The central entrance features a fielded six-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed, set within a plain stone surround that includes a keystone. A band runs between the ground and first floors, and there is a blocked cellar access at the left gable end. The house has a parapet with a moulded cornice and stacks located at the gable ends. The interior has not been inspected.
