Description
This building consists of two cottages that form a house, located 90 yards west of the Manor House in Upper Slaughter. They date from the late 17th century and are constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings. The roof is made of Cotswold stone in part, while the rest is felted as of the time of the last survey. The cottages feature gable end chimneys.
The northern cottage is two storeys high with an attic and has a hipped dormer with a coved cornice on the right. It includes a mullioned window with drips, featuring three two-light windows on the first floor and four windows on the ground floor, which are two and three-light. There are two doorways: one is central with a single light window to the left, and the other is to the left in a lean-to structure. Small skylights are present on both the ground and first floors to the right of the center. At the rear, there are two one-over-one windows, with the right-hand window being part of a two-and-a-half storey gable.
The interior has been altered in the 19th century, but several original features remain, including stop-chamfered beams with ogee steps. The building was empty at the time of the last survey.
