Description
Elm Tree House is a fine 17th century house, dated E I M 1656, located on the north-west side of Lower High Street. The building is two and a half storeys tall, constructed of cut and squared rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. It features a large square plan chimney with a cornice and three dormer gables. The façade has a symmetrical arrangement of 2:1 windows, which are separated by a chimney bay and have chamfered stone mullions with rebated surrounds. The ground floor right-hand window has ovolo mullions. To the left, there is an arched stone door with a cornice and a charming bow window that has been inserted into a four-light mullion window, with labels retained on each side of the bow. Below, there is a three-light mullioned cellar window. A modern door and window are located to the right.
