Description
The Church of St Michael, built in 1867-68 by J Pritchard of Llendaff, is a Grade II listed Gothic structure featuring Decorated elements. Its most prominent feature is a circular belfry at the west end, which includes alternating corbelled colonettes and piers that are buttressed to the north and south. The west facade has a foiled rose window and two trefoiled lancets. On the south side, there is a roughly central projecting tower porch with a transomed plate tracery window above an arched door, a circular chimney, and an angled stair turret at the north-east corner. The oak door is adorned with decorative strap-hinges. The east side has a pair of lancet windows, while the angled apse features trefoil leaded windows. Inside, there are columned rear arches and a fireplace on the north wall. The communion rail was designed by C R Ashbee in 1913.
