Description

Arlington Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with an enlargement around 1800. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone, with ashlar details and yellow brick chimneys, and has a stone slate roof. The house follows a lobby-entry plan and comprises a two-storey main block with an attic, and a two-storey rear wing.

The southwest front has a two-window arrangement. The ground floor has three-light mullioned and transomed casement windows, while the upper floor has three-light mullioned casements. A central gabled porch with a timber lintel and a six-panel door is centrally positioned. A central chimney rises from the ridge, featuring a moulded cap. The northwest side displays a gable end of the circa 1800 front block, with scattered mullioned and transomed casement windows. The rear wing extends to the left, featuring a mixture of 20th-century casements and two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements. Two doorways are present, each protected by flat timber porch hoods and having 20th-century doors. Yellow brick chimneys rise from the ridge. The southeast side has two and three-light chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds on the wing, alongside a central doorway with a concrete lintel and a 20th-century door. The interior has not been inspected.
