Description

The Jeremiah Jenkins monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St James, approximately 1 metre north of the church tower. It commemorates Jeremiah Jenkins, who died in 1761, and his wife Catherine, who died in 1786. The tomb is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth. On the north side, there is a sunken inscription plaque, which is flanked by fielded marginal panels. The tomb is topped with a capping that has a moulded margin and a moulded, hipped upper capping stone.
