Description

The gates and gateway adjoining the Baptist Chapel to the west date from the mid-17th century and are constructed with rubble walls that extend approximately 9 feet long on each side. The walls ramp up to a central chamfered ashlar archway that is inscribed with the words 'Baptist Church'. The archway features imposts, pyramidal coping, and a lamp-holder. The gates are made of good cast iron and display a rose-in-sunburst as the central motif.
