Description
Sycamore Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof. It dates from the late 17th to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension on the left gable-end that includes a forward-projecting outshut at the front.
The main body of the farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic, which is illuminated by full dormers featuring two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, complete with stopped hoods and horizontal glazing bars. The facade has three windows, which are lit by three- and four-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, also with stopped hoods and horizontal glazing bars. The central entrance features a 20th-century front door with glazing bars set in a plain surround that includes a keystone. To the right, there is a two-light 20th-century metal casement window with a keystone. The main body has triple gable-end stacks with moulded cappings and moulded kneelers, while the 19th-century extension has a gable-end stack at a lower level. The interior of the farmhouse has not been inspected.
