Description
Oxleaze House is a former detached farmhouse, now a house, built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries in two phases, with later 20th-century alterations. The house is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof. It has an "L" shaped plan, with a single-story extension added in the 20th century to the gable end at the rear right; this extension is not of particular interest.
The main body of the house is two stories high with a garret, which is lit by a single light with a flat-chamfered stone surround. The front facade has a four-window arrangement, featuring 2- and 3-light stone-mullioned casement windows with horizontal glazing bars and stopped hoods. The front door is a 4-panel design, situated off-centre to the right, within a slightly rectangular surround with a stopped hood, which may have been reused from a blocked window. Pigeon holes, now blocked, are visible on the first floor of the rear wing. The right gable end has a stack, and there are two axial stacks with moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
