Description

This is a house, dating from the mid to late 17th century, located in Cirencester. The front range is constructed of roughly squared limestone rubble, with traces of old limewash. The rear wing is of limestone rubble to the upper levels and brick at ground floor. Render, likely concealing timber framing, covers the upper portion of the rear wing. The roof is covered with stone slate, with concrete tiles on the rear slope and the right side of the rear wing. A gable faces the front.

The house has two storeys and an attic, and originally had a two-window front. The first floor features two 2-light timber casement windows set within chamfered stone surrounds, with stone mullions that have been cut out, and hoodmoulds above. Similar windows are present on the ground floor. A 2-light chamfered stone-mullion window, with a fixed light on the left and a leaded-light casement on the right, sits within a hoodmould in the gable. The front door is of six flush panels, set within a plain reveal, and is accessed via an entrance to Sheppards Place. The interior remains uninspected.
