Description
Langate is a Tudor Gothic lodge built in the mid to late 19th century. It is 1½ storeys tall and constructed from coursed and squared rubble. The roof is covered with modern concrete tiles and features moulded eaves, footstones, and coped verges. A large chimney with diagonal shafts has been added in modern times.
On the first floor, there are 2-light mullion windows with drips. The gable facing the road has a 3-light mullion and transom window. The gable and drive include an angled bay with a stone roof, featuring windows in a bowtel surround. The door is located in the angle and is topped by a gabled stone hood supported by long brackets. There is also a side door in a lean-to on the north side.
At the entrance to the drive, there is a gatepier with rusticated blocks and weathered capping, which matches a similar pier opposite and a third pier located at the corner of the road.
