Description

The Rectory is a former rectory built in the early 18th century, with an enlargement featuring a garden front and a single-storey south wing added around 1760. The main part of the building is constructed from rubble stone with a stucco front, topped by a double range Cotswold stone-slate roof that includes three large extruded stone gable stacks and one ridge stack. The building has two storeys and an attic, which features three hipped dormers with diamond-pane casements.

On the front, there are three windows arranged in a pattern of 3/2/3, made of stone with mullions and transoms, each with a square hoodmould and plain glass. The ground floor has a three-light window on the left and a two-light window on the right, which was replaced in the 20th century. The central gabled porch, likely from the late 19th century, includes an arched doorway with a traceried fanlight and double half-glazed doors with diamond panes.

The garden front has two hipped dormers, with two three-light windows and one two-light window on the first floor, and two former three-light windows now converted to two-light on the ground floor. The single-storey south wing is also a double range with hipped ends, featuring four large stone stacks with offsets. The east front of this wing has five 12-pane sash windows, arranged in a pattern of 1/3/1, with large stone lintels and quoins.
