Description

Hayes House, which houses Cotswold Sheepskin and Hadleigh, is a mid-19th century building located on Dyer Street in Cirencester. It consists of two shops with offices above. The front and sides are finished in stucco, while the rear right is made of brick and the upper part of the rear left features slate hanging, which is not visible from below. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has a truncated rendered stack on the rear slope.

The building is three stories high and has a five-window range. On the first floor, there are five 19th-century horned plate glass sash windows. The two windows on the left are set in flat unmoulded eared and shouldered surrounds with segmental heads, featuring timber panel infilling above and moulded stone cills on simple brackets. To the right, there are three windows with plain reveals, keyed lintels, and a continuous moulded cill band.

The second floor has two windows on the left that are similar to those on the first floor left, but they have plain reveals and unmoulded cills. The windows on the second floor right are similar to those on the first floor right, with separate cills that are moulded as a cill band below.

The ground floor features a pair of 20th-century timber shopfronts with a central 20th-century glazed door. There are pilaster strips on the first and second floors to the left and center, a plat band over the first floor right, and rusticated quoins at the right angle. The eaves are supported by three large brackets located at the left, center, and right. The interiors have not been inspected.
