Description
This is a mid-to-late 17th-century building, significantly restored since its original construction. It is built of coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. The two-storey main block, plus attic, features six windows. These windows have four lights on the ground floor, three on the first floor, and two in the attic, with stone mullions and drip moulds, mostly in a restored condition. A modern four-centred arch doorway in a "Tudor" style has been inserted in the third bay from the left. The building has four large gables with verges, kneelers, and finials.
The rear of the property is divided into two sections. To the left is “The Cloisters,” which features a timber-framed passage on the first floor. To the right is “Chardwar,” exhibiting two projecting gables with Tudor arch lights and mullions, as well as an angled bay to the left-hand gable. A Gothic panelled door is located to the left of the left-hand gable. The property is set within a lawn populated with flamingoes, oyster catchers, and curlews.
