Description

Home Farmhouse is a late 17th- and 18th-century farmhouse with a 19th-century extension and former cottage. It is located at the end of a row, and originally comprised a farmhouse and cottages. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with limestone rubble, while the 19th-century extension to the left is brick, and the former cottage attached to the right gable end has been heightened in brick. The roof is covered with concrete tiles, and there are brick stacks on ashlar stumps.

The building has a rectangular plan, with the 19th-century cottage attached to the right gable end of the farmhouse and a single-roomed extension attached to the left gable end of the farmhouse. The farmhouse has two storeys and three windows to the front. The first floor has three double-chamfered cross windows, another lower window to the left, and a central plank door with glazing above. A 4-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window with king mullions is located lower, to the right. All windows have stopped hoods. A 20th-century raking buttress is located to the right of the front door, and a single-storey extension is set back on the left, containing a segmental-headed window. The cottage, at a lower level to the right, has two windows, all 20th-century 2-light casements. A blocked doorway is located lower left, with a window inserted into the blocking, and there is a central plank door. Gable end stacks are present on the farmhouse, with flat gable-end coping to the farmhouse and cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
