Description
Cutwell Bridge is a former packhorse and footbridge that spans a tributary of the River Avon on the road into Tetbury from the southwest. It dates from around 1622 and features a single triangular arch that is approximately 1 meter high and 2 meters wide at the base, constructed with large voussoirs. The bridge platform is about 3 meters wide and is accompanied by a long ramp that measures around 25 meters in total length. The ramp has 20th-century iron railings on both sides and retains some original stone slabs, although much of it is now covered with tarmac. Additionally, there is a small square tunnel on the right side of the bridge, which has a single stone lintel and serves as an overflow.
