Description

The Plough Inn is an inn built in the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a front gable end extension added in 1905. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof and features limestone stacks. It has an 'L' shaped plan, with the main body from the late 17th to early 18th century and a wing extending back to the rear right. There is a single-storey 20th-century extension attached to the rear gable end, which is not of special interest, and a 20th-century extension that projects forward from the front right.

The main body of the inn is two storeys tall, with the first floor lit by three 20th-century dormers set into the eaves. The ground floor has three windows, featuring two and four-light 20th-century stone mullioned casements. The gable end of the 20th-century extension projects forward on the right side and includes two, three, and four-light stone-mullioned casements. An open-sided porch is located at the angle to the left of the 20th-century front gable end. The building has gable end stacks and an axial stack on the main body, with flat limestone gable coping.
