Description

Neighbrook House, formerly known as Upper Ditchford Farmhouse, features a datestone on the south front inscribed "I.S" over "1670". The building has been altered and added to over time and consists of two storeys and an attic, constructed from rubble with tiled roofs.

The south front has five bays, with a gabled break on the left that includes a range of windows returning to the side. There is a modern two-storey bay and gable, along with a lean-to porch dating from around 1900, which has braced timber and a cusped panel door with a transom light. The two right-hand ranges of windows are situated below a gable that has attic windows, and there is a gabled dormer to the right of centre. The building features ashlar ridge chimneys and two- and three-light casement windows with small panes, some of which have leaded timber lintels.

The east return has been rebuilt in brick during the 19th century and includes two windows with segmental heads and gabled dormers. The northern part of the house has a hipped stair turret and a restored narrow stair-light with three transoms. There is evidence of masonry disturbance nearby, possibly indicating the former presence of an oriel window.

Inside, the central room features a large fireplace and a through passage located behind it. The stairs appear to be modern from the outside, and there are stop-chamfered beams throughout the interior.
