Description
The former Church of St John, built in 1846, is designed in the Lancet style. It features coursed and squared rubble with slate roofs. The building has a three-bay nave with tall paired lancet windows. At the west end, there is a three-stage tower with angle buttresses, paired belfry windows, a clock, a corbel table, and a parapet. The arched west doorway retains its original bowtel-moulded door. There is a gabled south porch that includes the original pointed door. The short chancel has a stepped three-light east window. Inside, the roof trusses are supported by scissor-braces with curved bases. The interior was stripped during a resurvey, except for the pulpit.
