Description
No. 25 in Aston Magna is a large cottage from the early 18th century, which was formerly known as the Queen's Head Inn. The building has two storeys and an attic, constructed from squared rubble with a tiled roof featuring a coped verge and ashlar end chimneys, one of which retains its capping.
The façade includes two windows of the 4-light mullioned type, both with drips, and a small closet window to the right, also featuring a drip. There is a later 19th-century lean-to porch on the right side that leads to an elliptical-headed doorway with a ledged door.
Inside, the cottage has a lobby entrance and a Tudor arch fireplace on the first floor to the east, along with a spine beam on the first floor. The ground floor east room has a beam with ridge stops. The public house bar has been preserved and is now used for its original purpose as a larger space.
