Description
The Village Club, built in 1905 by Sir Guy Dawber for the Earl of Harrowby, features boundary railings and an iron loop arch at the front. The building is constructed of ashlar with a limestone slate roof. A brick chimney stack projects from the front wall off-center and has two diagonal brick stacks. To the right of the stack, there is a lower gabled wing that projects forward. A porch is attached to the left wall towards the rear, featuring wooden balusters in the upper part of the left wall. The building has a single storey with windows arranged in a 1:1 pattern, including four and six-light flat chamfered windows with king mullions and stopped hoods. The left gable end contains a six-light mullioned and transomed window with a stopped hood. The doors at the left gable end and the left wall of the projecting wing have flush four-centred arched surrounds with decorative stops at the bottom. There has been limited inspection of the interior.
