Description

A barn dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, built in two phases. It is located approximately 7 metres southwest of Oxleaze House. The barn is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and a single bay extension on the right-hand end. A double-width entrance is present on the left-hand side, with a metal door inserted within a C20 opening and a wooden lintel above. There's a further double-width entrance towards the right-hand end. A blocked door with a flat-arched head is present in the right gable-end, and a door to the hayloft is located in the upper right-hand corner. A circular window, formed from a single square stone slab with stone mullions in a cross shape, is situated in the upper left-hand side. The interior features 5 bays with original collar and tie trusses.
