Description
Eight monuments, including the Wilkins tomb, are located in the churchyard approximately 6 meters southeast of the porch to the Church of St. Mary. The group consists of a chest tomb and seven headstones arranged in three rows. The tall chest tomb, dated 1747, is made of limestone and features a rectangular shape with bolstered side panels flanked by panelled pilasters. It has a cyma moulded plinth and a cyma moulded top with tall moulded coping. The tomb is inscribed to Moses, who died in 1747, and Aaron, who died in 1722, both sons of Thomas Wilkins. The headstones date from the mid to late 18th century and are also made of limestone, showcasing a variety of well-preserved designs, including one double headstone.
