Description
Brightwell is a detached house located in Lower Oddington, dating from the early 19th century with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone with ashlar quoins, and features a concrete tile roof and 20th-century stone stacks. It has a rectangular plan with a 20th-century extension on the right gable end and a late 19th-century extension at the rear. The house is two storeys tall with an attic, which is lit by two roof dormers that each have two lights. The facade has three windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes with plain architraves and small keystones. The central entrance features a 19th-century six-panel front door, with the upper four panels glazed, a two-pane light above, and a keystone lintel. The 20th-century extension on the right is not of special interest. The house has gable-end stacks and is situated in a prominent position on a bend in the main street. The interior has not been inspected.
