Description

An 18th-century barn, stable, and open-fronted store stands immediately to the rear of and parallel with Rectory Farm. The building is constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, featuring large quoins, and has a thin stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan, incorporating a barn to the right, a stable attached to the left, and an open-fronted store on the left. The barn has a central double-width entrance with plank doors and a timber lintel, incorporating triangular ventilation slits. A large gable-end dovecot is present. The stable is single-storeyed with a hayloft above. It features a central plank door and a blocked, double-chamfered, stone-mullioned casement with a plank pitching door formerly above. The 2-bay open-fronted store is situated to the left. Flat gable-end coping with roll-cross saddles adorns the barn and stables. The barn’s interior displays three bays with collar and tie trusses; the tie beams are original.
