Description

Chester Villa is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of coursed squared limestone with brick at the rear of the first floor. It features a stone slate roof and has brick stacks at both ends that have been rebuilt in reconstituted stone, along with a brick stack on the rear slope. The building is two storeys high with an attic and cellar, and it has a three-window range.

On the first floor, there are three ovolo-moulded stone mullion-and-transom windows with timber casements, while the ground floor has two similar windows. The house also has two gabled dormers, each with two-light timber casements. To the right, there is a six-panel door featuring four flush panels and two glazed panels, set in a chamfered stone surround. Below the ground floor windows, there are two openings to the cellar, with the right one having a wrought-iron grille, likely from the 18th century.

The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have raised and fielded panel shutters inside the ground and first floor windows. According to Pevsner, the house is said to have an original staircase with turned balusters and a room featuring shell-cupboards.
