Description

This is a late 17th or early 18th century house located in Lewis Lane, Cirencester. The house is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, originally with a two-window front. The upper floor features two 8/8-pane sash windows, originally within stone surrounds where the mullions and transoms have been removed. On the ground floor, a 2-light casement window is positioned to the left, matching the original surround style, while a 19th-century 1/1-pane sash window sits in a plain reveal to the right. A gabled dormer window has a 2-light timber casement. The front door is a 6-panel design with a 3-pane overlight set in a plain reveal. A former string course over the ground floor has been cut back, and rudimentary quoins are visible on the right-hand angle of the front. The right end has an external stone stack, the upper part of which has been rebuilt in brick. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
