Description

A group of five chest tombs is located approximately 34.5 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St John Baptist. The tombs date from different periods: one is from the early 18th century, two are from the mid-18th century, and two are from the early 19th century. They are made of limestone. The early 18th-century tomb features carved console ends, while the two mid-18th-century tombs have rounded ends. One of the early 19th-century tombs has incised panels on the sides, a moulded plinth, and a chamfered ledger, while the other has a heavy chamfered ledger and plinth.
