Description

Gavel Cottage is a 17th-century building located on the west side of High Street in Moreton-in-the-Marsh. It has been restored and features 2½ storeys constructed of coursed and squared rubble, topped with a Cotswold stone slate roof. The cottage includes two hipped dormers that have leaded casements. On the first floor, there are two windows with chamfered stone mullions set in rebated surrounds, each with drips; these are three-light windows. The ground floor has a four-light window, which has been restored in place of former shop windows. A plain central doorway with a drip leads into the cottage, and the doors are recessed.
