Description
This is a group of five chest tombs dedicated to the Blandford family, located about 17 meters north of the west tower in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael. The tombs commemorate Elizabeth Jenner Blandford, who died in 1805; Henrietta Maria Blandford, who died in 1760; Elizabeth Blandford, who died in 1777; an unidentified individual, likely from the late 18th century; and Thomas Blandford, who died in 1780. All the tombs are made of limestone and feature flat tops, although they are mostly in poor condition as of May 1985. The tomb of Henrietta Maria is the most notable, distinguished by its large gadrooned ends adorned with cherub heads.
