Description
JC Holyoake and Son is a building located on Bath Road in Cheltenham, dating from around 1800 to 1820, with a mid-19th century shop front on the ground floor. The structure is made of stucco over brick and features a slate roof, a brick stack on the right, and a cast- and wrought-iron verandah.
The exterior includes two first-floor windows, which are 6/6 sash windows set in plain reveals. The ground floor has a glazed shop front with an off-centre entrance to the right, featuring glazed double doors with an overlight and glazing bars between basket-arched windows, which are flanked by slender pilaster strips and a frieze.
While the interior has not been inspected, the first floor boasts a fine continuous verandah with a double-scroll motif on the uprights, embellished rods on the balustrade, and an arcaded frieze.
