Description
The war memorial located in St Paul's Churchyard was created in the early 20th century by R L Boulton & Sons. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a wheel-head cross atop a square shaft, which has a moulded plinth resting on a tall base. On the south side of the shaft, there is an open pentagonal structure designed in the style of a pulpit, with recessed panels on each external face. The south panel displays a bronze wreath in relief and includes the inscription: ‘IN PEACE 1914-19’. The other panels list the names of the men who lost their lives during the war.
