Description
The boundary walls with corner piers and gates to Thirlestaine Hall are located on the north side of Thirlestaine Road in Cheltenham. These walls were built around 1855 to 1857 and stand approximately 2 meters high, extending for about 220 meters. They feature coped stone construction with vermiculated ashlar piers that have chamfered plinths, friezes, shaped cornices, and caps. The gates are made of cast iron and timber, with latticework in the upper part. This structure is an important feature of the streetscape and contributes to the setting of Thirlestaine Hall, as well as grouping with the main entrance and west entrance to Thirlestaine Hall.
